This year, the Arnold Palmer Invitational falls between 2 World Golf Championship events and is also 2 weeks before the Masters. Typically, missing this event wouldn't be newsworthy for most professionals. However, this year is a little bit different.
This is the first API without the King himself, after Palmer's passing in late September. 14 of the world top 25 are expected to miss the event, including the world number one Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, and Justin Thomas. However, many people, like Billy Horschel, think players should make the sacrifice to honor one of the game's greats. There are some dissenters, though, like Gary Van Sickle from the Morning Read, who think the way to honor Palmer is in life, not just at his event.
What would you do in this situation? Would you sacrifice your schedule and routine to honor Arnold Palmer, or would you find another way to honor one of the greats? Let us know on our Twitter and Facebook!
